If you really want to step up your cheese game, pull the loaf out of the oven after about 35 minutes and add some grated parmesan (the real stuff, not from the can, please) over the top. Into a pre-heated 350 degree oven for around 45 minutes. Hey, I didn’t pass this off as a healthy game day recipe!

Once stuffed, I add a VERY healthy drizzle of garlic butter over the top of the loaf, making sure it’s getting down between the bread slices. To shorten the cooking time, you can start the bacon ball in a microwave for 2-3 minutes before placing in the oven. I like to cook my bacon ball in a toaster oven for easier cleanup. Once you have your cheese stuffed, stuff some sliced pepperoni (partially cooked to remove some of the grease) down in there too, followed by some sliced green onion.
